They are co-opting independent culture for their own benefit just as big corporations always have done. We know everyone realizes how fake, disingenuous, and calculated these companies are when they pander to us, but we also know that it can be hard to find the best truly independent clothing brands, because they don't have multi-million dollar advertising budgets.
