Definitive Juxtaposition (aka Def Jux) is an independent hip-hop label based in New York City. The label was founded in 2000 by El-P (formerly of Company Flow). Def Jux is responsible for some of the most influential independent hiphop releases of the early 00s, like Aesop Rock's Labor Days and Cannibal Ox's The Cold Vein. Def Jux has become a main stay rap label over the past decade with releases from artists like RJD2, Murs, Cage The Perceptionists, Dizzee Rascal, and Cool Calm Pete, along with another two dozen notable roster members. |
